"This week I got to be all professorial and guest lecture a class at USC to talk about negotiating your marketing plan on behalf of talent when collaborating with brands. I helped the students identify the things you should be asking for to ensure you have a relevant modern day marketing strategy that considers all the new ways media is consumed and how you establish trust with young consumers.

Many people don’t realize that at the term sheet phase, brand and talent should be working together to build out the marketing plan and this shouldn’t be left ambiguous. This is a recipe for misalignment in the future.

Negotiations shouldn’t be viewed as being demanding but about getting on the same page and collectively wanting the best for the partnership." - Partner, Ted Nguyen.
