Senior Associate Entertainment

We are seeking a senior-level entertainment associate with at least seven years of entertainment-related transactional experience to join our film and entertainment practice group. The position will focus on development and production legal matters for producers of content across all platforms, scripted and unscripted. The associate will assist - with minimal partner supervision - in structuring, negotiating, and drafting media, entertainment, and intellectual property transactions, including acquisitions, development, production, finance, talent, distribution, licensing, endorsements, strategic ventures, and collaborations. Our clients span start-ups to well-known international brands, and include established creators, influencers, producers, talent, and leading location-based entertainment businesses.

Matters on which the candidate will work will be diverse, involving content production, licensing, and merchandising, monetizing intellectual property, digital media, interactive experiences, influencer and sponsorship deals, traditional entertainment, and NFTs. The candidate must be admitted to the California Bar, have worked in the entertainment law practice group of a well-established regional or national law firm, and have a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • JD and member of the California Bar (active and in good standing)

  • 7+ years of experience with major law firm/established entertainment boutique law firm

  • Entertainment transactional experience

  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and computer literacy

  • Strong work ethic

  • Able to handle multiple, high priority tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Precise attention to detail

  • Responsive and a problem solver

Job Type: Full-Time

Hours Expectation: 1,200 billable per year

Salary: $150,000 to $200,000 (depending on experience
